Kirbtech has worked across Central Queensland for more than thirty years. The industries we support built the region, and the clubs, schools and volunteer organisations around them are what make it a place people want to stay.
1. Supporting junior sport
Junior sport does a lot of quiet work. It gives young people somewhere to be, something to belong to, and adults outside their family who take an interest in how they are going. It also runs on a very thin margin of volunteer time and donated money. Our support goes to the practical end of that:
- Playing gear and ground equipment
- Travel costs for regional carnivals
- Keeping registration fees within reach for families
Tip: The most useful sponsorship is usually the least glamorous — the things a club cannot fundraise for twice.
2. Backing local training pathways
The skills shortage in our industries is not abstract. It shows up as a job that cannot be scheduled because there is nobody to send. Supporting apprenticeships and local training is the most direct thing a business our size can do about it, and it keeps opportunity in the region rather than exporting it.
3. Turning up consistently
The organisations we work with tell us the same thing: what helps most is support they can count on year to year, not a one-off cheque. That is why our partnerships tend to be long ones.
Final thoughts
Strong regions are built by the people who stay in them. Backing the groups that hold a community together is not separate from our business — it is part of why the business works.
